Cleaning Hint and Tips
Finding a cleaner who consistently produces good results on all of your clothes can be difficult. So, what should you be looking for?
- Tell the cleaner what you expect and ask if they can achieve it? However, listen to their answer because your expectations may be unattainable.
- Expect to pay a reasonable price for good quality work, as no expert sells their services cheaply.
- Look to see what special offers there are. If the cleaner is attempting to get high volume at cheap prices and it appears this is normal for them, then it might mean they are unable to take as much time on each garment as may be needed to get the best results.
- Make sure the cleaner checks your garment for the suitability of the process they are going to use. This is especially true if there are special instructions on the care label as you need to know that the cleaner is prepared to follow them.
- If you know there are stains then tell the cleaner what they are (if you know) and where they are.
- Specialist garments need more attention, so if you have any silks, leathers or delicate items be prepared to discuss your expectations and requirements with the cleaner.
- Don't expect special treatment just because you consider your garment to be expensive. If a cleaner doesn't take appropriate care of all the garments they clean then you shouldn't be using them. However, if a garment is very expensive then please tell the cleaner its value, you need to be certain they are insured in case something goes wrong.
When you find a cleaner you're happy with use them all the time. Let them get to know you, your clothes and how you expect the results to come out. Loyalty works both ways and ensures you'll gets good results the cleaner can achieve because they won't want to loose your custom.
Remember, things go wrong with the best of professionals - it's how someone deals with a problem that singles them out as "Someone you want to do business with". If something goes wrong and they sort it out satisfactorily use them again, as they will always sort a problem out if and when one occurs and that really matters.
